Jammy Oat Bars – Live Video Recipe

Hello again! Thanks again for those who tuned in for my live show. It’s been a fun and somewhat nerve-wracking adventure. Ultimately, I’d like to broadcast one show a week. And while I have plenty of ideas to show you, I’d love to hear from my readers/watchers for ideas that you’d like to see. Please email your suggestions to:

JAMMY OAT BARS

PREP TIME: 10-15 minutes

BAKE TIME: 40-50 minutes

YIELDS: 16 bars

EQUIPMENT:

Large Mixing Bowl

Whisk

9″x 13″Baking Pan

Measuring Cups/Spoons

INGREDIENTS:

1.5 C – Whole Wheat Flour (video uses All-Purpose Flour and Barlean’s Chia, Flax, and Coconut Mix)

1 t – Baking Soda

1 t – Cinnamon

1/2 t – Nutmeg

3 C – Oats

1.5 C – Sugar

1 C – Melted Butter

1 T – Molasses

1.5 C – Jam or Preserve of your choice

INSTRUCTION:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all of your dry ingredients (flour, oats, baking soda, spices, sugar) in a large mixing bowl.

Melt your butter and molasses. Pour butter mixture into your dry mix. Mix with your hands until thoroughly combined and butter is soaked in very well. It will resemble a streusel or crumble when ready.

Take half of your crumble mixture and press into a well-greased 9×13 baking pan.

Take all of the jam and spread it over the bottom layer of oats, keeping in mind not to push it all to the edge of the pan.

Take the rest of your oat mix and spread evenly over the top.

Place in oven to bake for 40-50 minutes until it has slightly risen and has a golden-brown color.
